  • The Facts

The 1994 Rwandan genocide devastated the country, creating hundreds of thousands of orphans. Despite widespread trauma and poverty, the survivors are rebuilding their nation, and supporting each other.

Jubilee Action is helping a community of orphan-headed households in the poor, rural Ntarama district, providing houses, access to education, vocational training and much-needed health facilities. The orphans’ determination to care for each other, their thirst for education, and their commitment to become their country’s new leaders, is proof that it is possible to transform lives and to provide hope with a small investment.

Browse through the pages and get some background on the peace villages in the rugged region of Ntarama, why we have chosen to work there and hear from the residents themselves how we can best help them.
